Christmas Tales

This past week is basically over, crazy right ? This year the holidays felt so rushed, I guess it feels the same way most years, but for some reason this year felt even more rushed than usual. With New Years also creeping up on us next week, I have ideas and inspiration floating in my head about my resolutions and where I want this blog to go from here. It's been such a stressful time in my life, for one reason or another I can't seem to feel like time is just flying by and I have no time to enjoy any of it.

It feels like my mind is non stop yet I can't seem to gather any coherent thoughts lately. I know that the downtime I do have is usually spent trying to pick up where I left off in a million different projects. I am hoping that the New Year brings a little more balance into my crazy life, but I also hope that it's the best year yet.

It's funny how some people say a new year is a fresh start, and a chance to start all over again. I truly feel like this is true. For once I feel like I need this year to change,  and I think a lot of things will start falling into place. I am excited for something new, and for a chance to start with this "clean slate." It's never too late to make changes, and it's definitely never too late to change your own life for the better. After all, that's what resolutions are for right? To better ourselves, and give ourselves a reason to accept change.

I am looking forward to change, and I am looking forward to 2014, and everything it entails.

A Very Snowy Date Night

I am pretty in love with this outfit. Our Marshalls challenge this month was our date night, and I was so happy to shop for it! I have wanted a vegan leather skirt for the longest time, and when I finally found one that fit I knew it was for me. Since I love mixing patterns and fabrics I chose to wear this sweater with it and really loved how they paired together. This jacket was also an awesome find, I love the fur lining and the belt, it helps keep the warmth in, and definitely helps us petite women have more of a waist.

I wanted to be dressed up, but not over the top, and this was the perfect mix of that. It was one of those nights that I felt really pretty and excited to go out on the town. I haven't had a lot of free time to do fun things lately, so this was really treat for me.

For my date night I chose Steakhouse 85, which is in New Brunswick, NJ. I chose this restaurant because I had never been there, and thought it would be the perfect spot to have a nice hearty meal. We had such a blast, and the atmosphere was perfect. I would definitely go back in the future. I had the petite filet mignon, and finished the night with a glass of Bailey's on the rocks and a banana split...Pure perfection. Everyone deserves a cheat day, right?

Minnetonka For The Holidays : A Night Out

Details: Over The Knee Fringe Boot // Courtesy of Minnetonka , Sweater, Skirt, Socks & Button Up // UO, Tights // Marshalls , Bracelet // Courtesy of Forever Nostalgic , Necklace // Nasty Gal

Hey guys! I am so excited to share my second look with Minnetonka today for our holiday series. I wore this outfit for my nephews Christmas play at their preschool. I wanted to dress up, but not be too dressy, and my Minnetonkas were perfect for this! I love the fringe in the back, and stitching around the boots, it layered perfectly with my socks and tights. (Which by the way is my favorite new thing to do this winter, you'll see in upcoming posts!) If you guys missed my Thanksgiving post rocking some different Minnetonkas, you can check that out here.

My nephews were pretty excited for us to see them perform the play they have been practicing for these past few weeks. They were singing Christmas songs all week and dancing around showing us their moves, so I knew they'd be happy to show off once they got up there. I really enjoyed seeing all of the kids performing, especially because they're still little so funny stuff always happens. (ie. dancing, yelling lyrics, and waving to their parents on stage).

They both dressed up like kings and sang their songs beautifully along with their class. It's so cute seeing them perform for the first time, they really shined up there and I can't wait till they do more as the years go on. It means so much to them to be able to sing their songs in front of our family, so it was a really nice moment for all of us. I can't believe they're going to be 5 years old soon, time sure does fly!
