Two Affordable Work Looks

Do you ever feel like work outfits can be super boring? Everyone thinks that work outfits have to be boring and not show any kind of style, but I disagree with that! I think the fun part about dressing up for work is making every outfit a more professional version of something you'd wear every day. I picked these two outfits because they're very affordable, but also very comfortable for an office type setting.

This dress is under $20, and comes in 3 colors. It fits like a dream, and can be worn in the summer or winter (just add a sweater) I really love the colors in this dress and I feel like it's perfect for an office setting, I usually pair this with an oversized poncho or sweater since it has a low back.

This next outfit is meant more for "casual fridays" in the office. At my job we can wear jeans on Fridays which is awesome, so this look would be perfect! I love that the top has personality, but it's still very professional and classy. Paired with some peep toes and you're ready to rock!

Pink Ruffle Top

Hi everyone! It's crazy how unpredictable the weather has been in NJ these past few weeks! We go from rainy days, to really hot days and everything in between. Lucky for me, I got to sneak in some Fall inspired outfits on the colder days this past weekend. Who else is ready for Fall?

Every Summer I look forward to the warmer weather but by the end of it, I am just ready to be a basic blogger and start carving pumpkins, drinking pumpkin spiced lattes and layering my scarves and tunics, haha. Hoping you are all having an amazing week, and looking forward to catching up with all of you!

Game Night In With The Ladies!

Thank you Deer Lord! for sponsoring this post. Grab your new edition of Deer Lord! social party game, available through Target retail stores starting July 30.

Every time I think about board games, I think about being a kid and playing with all of my cousins for hours on end. I think the problem with becoming an adult, is that we sometimes forget to embrace our "silly" side, and to do simple things to have a good time. On this particular night I invited all of my work besties over for a fun girls night! It was the first time we all got together in my house, and the girls even got to meet Ollie!

Our game of choice? Deer Lord! It's is a Social Party Game where players challenge each other to wacky “Duels,” and also attempt to “Dupe” each other by secretly getting away with outrageous social actions unnoticed. Deer Lord! began as European independent game phenomena. The new revised editions differ from the original in several ways. The new edition rules are more expansive than the minimalist version in the classic edition. Also the classic “Do Something” cards have become “Dupe” cards in the new editions.

What's hysterical is that I am a terrible liar, and pretty much everyone called me out every single time I tried to Dupe anybody! It made it pretty funny for everyone involved. It's definitely not my strong suit considering I laughed every single time I attempted to dupe anybody. We laughed till we cried, and my face hurt at the end of the night because of it. I think as adults, we forget how much fun we can have just sitting at our house, it's not always about going out. It was such a simple night with friends but ended up being exactly what we needed after a long work week. If you want to try the game for yourself it's now available in Target stores.

What To Wear When Biking On An Island- Nantucket Edition

My trip to Nantucket with Schwinn Bikes seems so long ago at this point! In one month I made my way to three different places, a total of 11 different plane rides, and lots of random snacks in between. Things have been hectic to say the least. Although my trip was a little shorter than anticipated (plane delays and cancellations) I had such a great time meeting everyone from the Schwinn team and traveling to beautiful Nantucket. If I could have extended my trip I would have, it was such a breath of fresh air to get to meet people I have been talking to and emailing with for years now. I left Nantucket with my heart full!

Before I get too mushy, let me stay on topic here! This post is all about biking on an island. This was a first for me, so a great deal of research went into this. Not only is Nantucket cold during the day, but it's also very humid, so it was hard to balance both of these extremes in outfit choices. I've put together some tips about biking on an island, and how to stay warm/comfortable on the chillier days! What's funny about Nantucket is that the sun could be shining, but it's still rather chilly and windy for the most part.

  • Always pack jeans- This was a huge plus for me on my trip, because even though the weather alternated from hot to cold, having a comfortable pair of jeans was crucial to stay comfortable through all of the locations we visited. They were also great for traveling home on the plane!
  • Oversized sweaters for the win!- I packed this cactus sweater as my back up because I knew I would get cold. I ended up wearing it to the beach with my swimsuit underneath and it kept me cozy and comfortable that day!
  • Pack long sleeved shirts + pants for night time adventures- We ended up going sailing the one night I spent there and everyone told me to bring a jacket but of course I said I would be fine! Correction: I was so cold! I had long sleeves & long pants on and that is pretty much what saved me on that boat! Lesson learned, always pack an extra light coat for night excursions!
  • Pack a hat! - Having a hat packed with you is great because it's so windy(from being so close to the water) that you'll definitely want to keep your beautiful hair in check. Having a hat will save your good hair day, but also makes for cuter photos!
  • Comfortable shoes are a must! - Of course make sure your cute shoes are packed for going out but also bring some sandals & sneakers if you plan on biking around the island. Comfort is key so you want to stay safe while riding! Sneakers give you a good grip while navigating the different roads & hills along the way.
